Job Profile

The Community Relations Manager is responsible for three areas: front office maintenance and reception, outreach support for the organization, and recruiting, training, and organizing 200-300 volunteers.

In the front office area, this individual is responsible for organization, oversight, and/or direct performance of the box office and all general office operations. Setup, reporting, and analysis of pass and ticket sales are required year-round but will involve intense focus in the festival season, including training and supervising seasonal workers. Duties will include maintenance of computer and other technical systems, inventory, and stocking of office supplies, answering phones, and general email inquiries.

In the outreach area, this individual is responsible for supporting outreach efforts to filmmakers, community members, and partner organizations as directed. From initial calls to potential collaborators to tracking communication with donors to organizing parties for sponsors, this role will involve a variety of tasks that call upon both people and organizational skills.

In the volunteer area, this individual is the ongoing volunteer outreach and orientation arm of the organization. Preparing current information on volunteer needs for newsletters, websites, social media, and community-wide information sites, the Community Relations Manager also attends relevant volunteer recruitment events and provides basic orientation to volunteers throughout the year. In the Festival season, they lead the volunteer crew and coordinate other staff and seasonal workers to engage, assign, track, and provide consistent, clear communication with a large number of volunteers.

The position requires a clear communicator who enjoys interacting with a wide variety of people both one-on-one and in large groups. Equally, the position requires someone who is highly organized, able to manage multiple simultaneous projects, able to use a wide variety of digital programs and databases and is comfortable working in virtual and live environments.
