In PTFF’s ongoing commitment to each stage of filmmakers’ work, we offer the PTFF Filmmaker in Residence program.

Description

Port Townsend Film Festival works to build not only an invigorating annual festival, where filmmakers, producers, and audiences connect, but also a year-round community where filmmakers thrive and grow.

The FIlmmaker in Residence Program provides a travel stipend to assist in reaching Port Townsend, a stunning location, cozy accommodations, a variety of food and dining options (with some free meal vouchers), and a variety of transportation options to help you explore the Olympic Peninsula.

Available for up to four weeks in May, the residency is designed to provide space to make progress on your current or future projects. PTFF asks the filmmakers to make at least one public presentation during their stay.

Eligibility

The Filmmaker in Residence Program is open to PTFF “alumni filmmakers” (filmmakers who have had a film presented as part of the Port Townsend Film Festival or Women & Film).

Criteria

PTFF is looking for Residents who have a specific need for retreat from their everyday lives and a concrete plan for what they want to accomplish in the weeks they are staying in Port Townsend. An exciting vision for their public presentation/public engagement is also required.

The highest priority will be given to proposals where the work to be accomplished is related in some way to the Pacific Northwest.

Past Residents Include

Alexandria Bombach, Mo Scarpelli, Andrew Perez, Lana Wilson, Christina Antonokas-Wallace, Catherin Ryan, Gary Weinberg, Doug Blush, and Lisa Klein.
