Women and Film 2017 – Festival Highlights

Rita Coburn WhackPTFF is happy to bring you our third annual Women & Film Focus festival! You can choose between nine thought-provoking films produced by women, many who you might meet in person, during the weekend.

All films are screened during the day on Saturday and Sunday, April 8 & 9, 2017. They are showing at the Rose and Rosebud Theatres (235 Taylor Street).

Passes are $75, which includes concierge service, and gives you a pre-selection of four films with filmmaker Q&A afterwards. There is a special discount rate through March 1st. Purchase a pass before that day and receive a second pass for ½ price. The total cost for two passes to the Women & Film festival will be $112.50. All pass holders receive concierge service to guarantee seating. Only 150 passes are available.

We are honored to welcome Rita Coburn Whack, the co-director of the film Maya Angelou: And Still I Rise. She is presenting a prescreening interview as we hear about her journey, uncovering the remarkable journey of Maya Angelou. Ms. Whack is an award-winning writer, producer and director for television, magazines, series, news, talk shows, documentary programming and social media. Her television projects include three Emmy Award-winning documentaries and productions for local and public-television programs airing on C-SPAN and the History Channel. Her projects include: Apollo Live (2012), Mobsters (1997), Democracy Now (2001).
