In collaboration with Dove House, PTFF Focus presents Promising Young Woman, a dark comedy thriller and the 2021 Academy Award winner for Best Original Screenplay. Dove House representatives will lead discussion following the film.

Promising Young Woman

Written, directed, and co-produced by Emerald Fennell in her feature directorial debut. The story follows a troubled young woman haunted by a traumatic past as she navigates balancing forgiveness with vengeance. Black comedy, thriller, crime drama and feminist critique blend into a highly engaging and timely take down of a dominant culture that too often emphasizes women as victims. 

Promising Young Woman was nominated for five categories at the 93rd Academy Awards and won Best Original Screenplay.
